    Hi

I was searching the forums but could not find anything concrete regarding this issue.

    Specs:
17" MacBook Pro 2.5 (Non Unibody)
    6 GB RAM
    320 HDD
    512 Nvidia 8600

    Mac OS 10.6.1
    Parallels 4.0 b3848
    Guest: Windows 7 Ultimate

When shutting down Windows 7, it takes about 15 minutes to shut down.

I've restarted the Mac OS, launched Windows 7, shut down, still takes 15 minutes.

    Launching Windows 7 is fine.

The one thing I did before this happened was that I changed the number of CPUs from 1 to 2 in Parallels configuration. Then I noticed the shut down issue......after shutting down (both cold shut down and proper shutdown (waiting 15 minutes), I reverted back to 1 CPU from 2 CPUs. Launched Win7, then tried shutting down, same 15 minute wait to shut down.

The only installation in Windows 7 was Office 2007......everything was fine after this.

Shutting sown Mac OS is fine.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Kai85

I was logging into Windows 7 via PD 4 with a domain user account at home where the domain was not reachable. I log in in fine and connect to my wireless network. The shut down is what takes 15 minutes. If I used a Workgroup account with no domain, then the shutdown process was quick. Using the same domain account at work where the domain was readily available, my shutdown process was fine.

That said, are you also using a domain account when you log into your Windows 7?

Shortly after, PD 5 came out.....I made the upgrade and the shutdown issue was resolved regardless of what type of user account I used.

    ...hope this helps.
