    Hi,

I have Parallels Desktop 7 with Win 7 Pro 64bit. There is only one user installed and this user does not have set a password and will out log on to the desktop. After some updates, the VM will show instantly after starting it, that the username or password was incorrect. I am not able to access the win desktop anymore. Is there a way to fix this issue? Some advises i saw will not work for me, since i can not log in anymore.

    thanks for your help.

    king regards,

Okay, since nobody could help me I helped myself.

I found out that I could boot via CD/DVD ROM (Virtual Machine configuration --> boot sequence) and used a program called offline nt password & registry editor to reset the user password.

Obviously, a Windows Update shot the system and changed something in the user administration. After this fix, everything worked fine, except windows was really slow. But now I have the possibility to back up my files and reinstall windows itself.

    Greetings,

    Mac Airbook

I'm using an airbook which does not have a CD drive. Is it possible to access the VM another way?

I was using an .ISO Image of a password crakcing tool, so I did not need any CD/DVD. But of course it is possible to use an external CD/DVD drive with your MacBook Air via USB or you may use a remote CD/DVD drive from another computer.

    Thanks

I'm happy enough to go with an ISO. How do you point it at the VM you want to crack?

Well thats not difficult. Just click on the CD/DVD symbol on the bottom line of the VM windows and bind the iso in, thats all.
