    i have upgraded a mac to EL Capitan (reformat HDD and reinstall Mac OS Fresh).
    i have a Windows 7 VM and it works fine on Yosemite but not on El Capitan.
    VM is configured as follows: (that worked flawlessly on yosemite)
    Optimization = faster virtual machine
    CPU = 2
    RAM = 4GB
    Graphics = 512MB

    Host machine model is iMac14,1 (2.7GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM)
    please see screenshot for the prl_vm_app cpu usage...

    running Parallels Desktop 11.1.2

    Hello Robert,
    The reason why numbers are different is that Mac and Windows calculate CPU consumption in 2 different ways:
    In Windows: No matter how many CPUs you have, if you have (for example) 6 CPUs installed, the total consumption of all 6 CPU resources will equal 100%.
    In Mac: Multiply the number of CPUs you have by 100%. For example, if you have 6 CPUs installed, the total consumption on Mac will equal 600%. Please refer to this article. Thanks!
