Most recent version of Parallels 8.
    Windows 8.1 x64.
Macbook Pro Core i5 2.5 GHz
    4 MB DR 1600 RAM
    OS/X version 10.9.5
The media is a DVD-R I burnt yesterday from the downloaded Windows 8.1 ISO. I used my new Asus Windows 8.1 system to burn and verify the DVD-R.
It gets about 10 minutes into it then stuck at the 66% point for at least ten minutes. Hard drive or optical drive emits a periodic whirring (spinning up) noise.
Previously Windows 7 had been installed on this Mac, but that account was deleted and we are starting over with Windows 8.1

    Ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi GaryW1,
Please follow the steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/4729 to initiate the installation > On the step where installation wizard asks you to Specify a name and location, choose " Customize settings before installation" > Click continue > Increase the Ram and close the configuration window to continue with the installation, let us know how it goes.
