Ok, so the features of Parallels 9 says that it offers a full Windows 8 start menu and the ability to boot directly into desktop mode, but I can't seem to figure out where to set these up, anyone have any instructions?
apparently you can have paralells install stardock that allows this. Under the following menu. Parallels menu > View > Use Windows 7 look
How do you do this? How do you do this? I don't seem to have any view menu options to tell Parallels to install something called StarDock or to tell it to display Windows 7 in Windows 8. If you could provide a link or give me the steps, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, JimD,
Should be the View option on the Parallel status bar on the top of the screen. If you don't see it there maybe a bug, or maybe the OS VM needs to be set to be recognized as windows 8.
Here is a screen shot of my vm. I don't see any parallels status bar or icon. Parallels identified it as Windows 8 when I enstalled it. Thanks, JimD,
The only options in that menu are: Enter Coherence Enter Full Screen Enter Modality Use All Displays in Full Screen Make Screen Shot Show Resource Usage Hide Status Bar
Please run VM, create problem report (from Parallels menu > Help > Report a problem) and post a number here.
I've created a problem report, 30559653. I really appreciate everyone's help. I'd like to move on to win8, if possible, but this panel they've created for their phones and tablets is worse than useless on a desktop or laptop computer. Secondly, removed any type of useful menuing (start menu), makes using the computer more trouble than its worth. So, when I read that Parallels 9 would fix these foundational problems, I jumped at it. Thanks, JimD,
