windows 8 terribly slow

    I am running a Windows 8 guest using Parallels 8 on an iMac model bought in 2006. The Mac has 3 GB RAM, about 65 GB free disk space left after installation of the guest system. Windows 8 was installed by upgrading Windows 7. Can somebody tell me whether I might have done something wrong or am I wasting my time with this setup?
