BTW, I won't be able to get updates until I have restored my Windows' internet connection (see (2) in my blog)

    Hi,

For your first question, my testing Windows 10 for ARM Insider Preview inside Parallels Desktop Technical Preview gets update automatically by Windows update, one or two days after Windows installation. I guess it download huge files so it takes time.
So please wait and make sure your Windows update feature is not suspended.

Hi, Just "Windows Update" feature under "Update & Security" feature set under "Settings".
The same as other official Windows 10. But the edition is Insider Preview, so I guess MichaelH63 called it as Insider Settings.

It's the last entry in the Updates settings. You probably need to scroll down to see it. There you can choose your channel. The default is the beta channel which is actually on an older build than 21286. Switching to the Dev Channel gives you access to newer builds.

Have you tried ipconfig/renew? Or changing to bridged mode? Or reinstalling Parallels Tools?

I tried lots of things that I found in an Internet article - none helped. Then, after a while, the network connection was restored. Maybe a delayed response? Anyway, works now.

Thanks - found it. Do I need to uninstall the current build I have, or will installing the new download automatically kick out the old one?

No, just run Windows Update. It works exactly like it does with regular non-Insider Windows. It should show you build 21343 if you are in the Dev Channel.

Now I downloaded & installed build 21343 - and again no internet connection. I tried ipconfig/renew, but it did not work (timed out).

I hit the following problem with Windows 10 Insider version: I use the optical design program OpticStudio by Zemax. Their licensing is done through a third-party program called Sentinel. Turns out that Sentinel does not support Win10 Insider, so although I am able to download OpticStudio to my Win10, it won't run because the license can't be activated.

Rebooted Windows 10 ARM yesterday in latest Parallels with M1 support and now I don't seem to have any mouse or keyboard support within the virtual machine. Hoping someone can help me out.

    Try installing Parallels Tools again.

I can't login to Windows to do that. It sits at the login screen when the first thing I was going to do was have it auto login but never got to it.

You don't need to login to Windows to install Parallels Tools. It's an option in the menu bar.

I can't get the Windows 10 VMDK to load, I try to open insider Preview for ARM64 version 21354, using the latest Parallels 16.5 on my MacBook Air m1, and it says Unable to Detect Operating System. I select Windows 10 and try to proceed with the installation, but I get error "Operation failed. Failed to execute the operation."

After trying to create a vm using the 18043 .iso, it fails and explains that the normal intel x64 architecture doesn't run on m1, and now when I select the 21354 ARM64 .vmdk it detects the operating system is Windows 10 now, and somehow I'm able to proceed with the install

Hope my workaround helps anyone else struggling with this

What about the windows hello fingerprint? The M1 has the fingerprint reader. Windows says it could not found a fingerprint scanner that works?
