Running Parallels 11.2.2 (32651) with El Capitan 10.11.6 Windows VM is put into standard Mac application sleep when the Mac sleeps. When Mac returns from sleep, the Windows clock starts out set to the time when the Mac went to sleep. I have "Time: Synch from OS X" set. Within about a minute, the Windows clock is corrected. This is not a problem with timezones, so the article you have users read has nothing to do with this issue. Is there a way to get Parallels to check and resync the clock more quickly? Can the VM detect that it was in sleep mode? Or does it simply not know, and merely checks the clock on its own periodic schedule, which may lead to the brief delay I am seeing? Is there a way to at least manually cause Parallels to do an immediate resynch? Maybe by flipping a preference, or changing the clock manually temporarily? Thank you.
My problem is not time zone - the Windows time is simply stuck at the last time the Mac went to sleep, and fixes itself about a minute after waking up. That patch fixes Russian time zones and isn't related to my problem. (I already wrote that my problem is not time zones.) I presume Parallels checks the time maybe once per minute, and doesn't detect that the application just woke from sleep, so it doesn't immediately check the time. And my question is if there is a way to get Parallels to check the time more quickly.
I agree would probably be a good idea, but I haven't upgraded yet. Was not sure if I should upgrade to Sierra first, or to Parallels 12 first, or if it makes any difference. I also don't know what the modified Retina features will do. Currently my settings work for me and I don't want Parallels 12 to make things smaller or otherwise mess up my settings. It wasn't easy to find a combination of Mac, Windows, and Parallels display settings that works well for me. Parallels 11 already has Retina support, and already has what looks to me like "smart resizing." And I have two monitors with very different resolutions that Parallels works with perfectly, so what do these Parallels 12 Retina features mean? Is this just documentation left over from Parallels 11, and there is no real change?
macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 Parallels 16.1.3 Windows 10 Home 20H2 I'm seeing this issue in my version of Parallels although I can's say if the clock eventually resets or not. I have applications which don't seem to work when the Windows is in this state. Outlook can't make a connection to Office365 server. I need to reboot windows and all work fine. Need to do this every morning. I can't seem to find any other articles on this other than to set "Time: Synch from OS X" which is already set. Any guidance?
