Hi. I'm new to this forum and to Parallels. I'm running into the "Unattended Answers file" issue while trying to install Windows 7 guest under Parallels 10 on Mac Yosemite. What makes this a unique windows licensing issue is the source of the Win7 media and license key that I'm using. I would appreciate some comment or advice on my particular situation which is as follows. I have a Windows 7 Pro license code that was sometime ago derived from upgrading Windows Home machine using Microsoft Anytime Upgrade to Pro. Unfortunately the machine that this was installed on suffered irreparable damage in an accident. I replaced the machine with a Mac deciding that I would use this opportunity to learn Mac's, etc. I set the Win7 Pro license that use to be with this machine aside and forgot about it. Now having used the Mac for a while, I decided to install Windows 7 Pro under Parallels on my Mac. When I went looking for the the original media that contained Win7 Pro I realized that I had misplaced the DVD when I disposed of my old (destroyed) Windows machine. But since I still had license code (Win 7 Pro) from Anytime upgrade (and the original Windows 7 Home media that was the basis for the Anytime upgrade a long time ago), I figured that I could just use another Win7 Pro DVD with Parallels to do the install and then just enter the (old) Win 7 Pro license code. But, this didn't work because of the unattended answer file issue. I'm at a loss of what to do. The situation is that I have a valid, unused Win7 Pro license, a legitimate (but different) Windows 7 Pro install DVD, and I can't seem to get those two to work together to produce one license, legitimate Windows 7 Pro Guest VM. Could anyone suggest a path thru this that does not involve me having to purchase another Windows Pro media + license code that I do not need for this installation? Must I locate the original Windows Home DVD and license, install that in Parallels as a Windows Home guest, then upgrade that Guest to Windows Pro using the Anytime license? Thanks in advance.
