I have encountered a strange issue when running Windows XP SP2 as a Guest under MacOS. I only run Outlook under Parallels and delegate all document opening, including URL handling, to the MacOS native applications (can't wait for native Exchange support that will be built into Snow Leopard). However, over time, I find that the hyperlink that I click on is passed from Outlook in Windows XP to Safari in Mac OS X with extra characters at the end of the URL. For example, the URL http://eng-veh-10-ve-300.carrieriq.com:8080/DeviceAnalyzer Is passed from Windows to Safari as http://eng-veh-10-ve-300.carrieriq.com:8080/DeviceAnalyzer%FF%FE%00%AF%FF%FE%13%02%FF%FE%FF%FF%FF%FE%FF%FF%FF%FE%FF%FF%FF%FE%09%00%FF%FE%08%2B%FF%FE%36%02%FF%FE%00%00 I am able to copy the hyperlink and paste it into Safari's location bar but that defeats the purpose of shared applications. Sometimes rebooting the guest and restarting Parallels helps. I searched the forums and couldn't find a previous post so does anyone have any ideas how to remedy this annoyance once and for all?
