Overall, I am very happy with Parallels Desktop, but I am encountering a few grief issues involving the synchronization of my WM6 based cellphone using Windows Mobile Device Center and ActiveSync. The main issue appears that Parallels is dropping the connection (USB) within a few minutes of connecting. Sometimes it also doesn't connect in the first place... If I would have to take a guess what the reason is then I would think that Leopard and Parallels are competing to get access. I also would like to mention that I am also running BootCamp on the same machine and I don't have any issues connecting in BootCamp.

Since my phone also supports Bluetooth I also tried to connect through Bluetooth, but it seems that Parallels doesn't even recognize my phone as a bluetooth device for some reason. Again, it seems to me that Leopard recognizes the device and takes ownership.

From a testing point of view I want to ad that I tested both scenarios separately meaning that I either used USB or Bluetooth and not both at the same time.

Does anybody have this working correctly?

Hopefully this can be resolved with a future release.

    Thanks,
    Jens

    Fix or Update?

    Will this ever be fixed?

I am also wondering when we can expect to see another update? I mean some issues are kind of bothersome (e.g. no video in Windows Media Player under Parallels Desktop).

It would also be nice to see better DirectX support...

    Thanks,
    Jens

Same here. Just wanted to add that this feature worked fine in version 3. I had been a fan of PD since I get my iMac, but the thruth be told, Parallels people has to do more serious testing before releasing new versions.

    same issues

I am unable to connect to my Sony Xperia1 using ActivSync in Parallels (with Win XP). Is there any workable solution for this?

Idem here. I have this problem with my Sony Ericsson Xperia1 too. It's been a longtime though....I thought there had been already a solution for this.... In my case, the difference with 'jstraten' is that I cannot connect my windows mobile based device to the bootcamp neither. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit on Parallel Desktop, and Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on Bootcamp. I don't use the Bootcamp often, the reason I installed it was to test the connectivity with my device, but nothing happens when I connect it to MacBook Pro17(early 2009). Well, I hope the solution comes soon.

PD 4: Windows mobile device will not connect with VM

Just recently upgraded from PD 3.0 to 4.0. No problem with 3.0 getting my Windows Mobile based phone to sync with VM. Since installing 4.0 VM doesn't detect the device at all. VM also doesn't detect my USB printer although VM does detect my jump drive and USB hub. When booting windows natively in boot camp, mobile device connects and syncs with no problem. Printer also works too.
