windows vertically shrinked in macosx when centos 4.4 switched to/from full-screen

Using build 3186, I have a centos 4.4 vm image (no X-windows installed, it boots into text-mode console).

Now, when I push the centos 4.4 vm to fullscreen and back. I observe that applications on macosx (web browser [Camino] and Colloquy [IRC client]) had their windows size reduced a lot in the vertical direction thus being effectively shrunk

Has anybody else seen such behaviour when transitioning to/from full-screen
