Recently, my Windows XP Client has been hanging when I leave it overnight. On waking up in the morning, the black screen with the floating windows logo is there: when I click on it, this switches to the pale blue screen (actually, with the Kaspersky anti-virus indicator visible in the top corner), which is unresponsive either to keyboard or mouse clicks. I'm not sure what's happened: this used to work fine, and I haven't done much except download the usual system updates as and when they show up. The only thing I can think of is that I have relatively recently started a daily backup task using Acronis True Image Echo Workstation. It's conceivable that this is handing Windows, but it seems unlikely: the operation is completing successfully every time and is quite happy with its logs. Anyway, the backup was working fine for a month before these problems started. I've searched the Windows event log - there doesn't seem to be anything there that indicates a client OS hang. Anyone have any ideas?
