I installed Parallels 3.0 on my new Mac Book and bought a Windows XP disk "for new computers" to install afterwards. Before inserting the Windows disk, I read that it formats the hard drive. Does it format only the partition or will I lose my Mac OS?

    Hello Blaine Totty,

Virtual Machine if configured correcly will not eefect your Mac data.

Create new Virtual Machine (during creation Parallels Desktop will create virtual hard disk )and insert windows installation disk and follow the Windows Installtion Wizard (it will format only virtual hard disk).
