Hi, Ever since upgrading to Parallels 5 form 2.5, the installation process for Windows XP Speech Recognition will automatically crank up from time to time. I can't quit the process or ignore it and work in another application in XP, the only way to get rid of it seems to be to restart Windows within Parallels. It only happens every so often, not regularly, and I suspect it is being activated by a rogue hotkey combination from the Mac. Does anyone have any ideas on how to prevent this? I have done a quick search of this forum to see if the question has been asked before, but it doesn't seem it has. Thanks in advance for any and all advice offered.
Hello, JonC2! I could offer you to turn off Speech Recognition: 1) Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2) Double-click Regional and Language Options. 3) Click the Languages tab, and then click Details. 4) Under Installed services, click Speech Recognition, click Remove, and then click OK. 5) Click OK to apply all the changes. If you use Speech Recognition - send a Problem Report (Help -> Report a Problem...) at the moment it crashes and post ID here.
Blimey, that was a quick response. Thanks for the tip - I have removed the option and will let you know how I get on.
