Windows XP trashed?

    Hi;

    I have a HP laptop with Windows XP installed and use it for everyday work while I use my Macbook for everything else. I for a recent vacation I figured that rather than bring two laptops I would bring only my Macbook with Parallels Desktop 5.

    So, I pulled the hard drive out of the HP and popped it in an external USB enclosure. I created a new VM in Parallels and tried to hookup to the HP's hard drive. After some tinkering I got it to connect by treating the hard drive as a boot camp partition. Everything went well and Windows XP worked great.

    The problem in this story is that when I returned I tried to put the hard drive back into the HP with the expectation that it would run normally again. It does not. I can only get it to boot in safe mode with networking.

    Is my Windows installation trashed? Can I get it back to where it was before I used Parallels or do I need to reinstall everything on the HP?
