    Hello from Ecuador!

I know that there are several people having problems with there winxp.hdd file, so I hope there is a solution.

My Winxp.hdd crashed when I shut down Windowsxp/Parallels and now I can´t open the 12 GB file.

It´s really important to get it working again because we need the GPS-MAP-Software from Garmin (Garmin that´s the GPS-company lying about MAC OS support - don´t buy Garmin, reconsider buying a Magelland device!!)
We need to set waypoints at the map under Windows and transfer them to my Garmin because we´ll hiking in/to a kind of dangerous aerea with nearly no water.

As the problem with the crashed/corrupted Winxp.hdd is quite common I thought there is maybe even a tool to fix it.

    Thanks a lot!

    Bye,

PS: Do you guys know that the forms here don´t work with Opera??

Why don't you keep backups of the VM????

I don't think you can recover from a corrupt hd file, I couldn't. But I religiously backup my VM.

    Hi!

To read and think would be an great idea, no?

    1. I´m travelling and the weight of the MacBook Pro is more than enough.

    2. And I didn´t ask for stupid answers.

I thought Parallels is a program running on Mac Os and (my) Mac OS uses a journal file system. So how a crash like this could be so dramatic?

However, I used VMWare under Linux with Windows and never had problems like that - although I only used EXT3 for Linux and stupid NTFS under Windows.

    Bye,

    Stefan
