I restored my data from a Time Machine backup to a new hard drive, and now my virtual machine won't work. Apparently, from reading other threads, I see that Time Machine doesn't backup these files. I tried re-installing Windows as a new virtual machine, but Windows thinks it's already installed and balks. So now I don't know what to do. Do I have to uninstall then re-install Parallels (and hope whatever lingering Windows files will be deleted) and then re-install Windows (assuming it no longer detects that it has been installed on this machine before)? Also, assuming I am able to get a virtual machine up and running again, how can I protect the data in the future so this doesn't happen again if I have another hard drive crash or decide to migrate to another computer?
