Hi, there... I was running PWS2.2 build 2222 on WinXP Pro SP2, and I recently upgraded my Guest OS to Ubuntu 8.04. No problems. However, when I upgraded the host WinXP to SP3, I was no longer able to access USB Flash drives from within Parallels. I would select Devices->USB->(flash drive), and here the usual dings from Windows and the usual notificatioon that I can safely remove the drive, etc. However, the drive never shows up in Ubuntu, and then in about 5 seconds, more dings, and the drive re-appears under Windows again. I have run into posts in which some have complained about WinXP SP3 issues with USB devices that used to work fine under SP2. Anyone run into anything similar to this? Thanks, Pete
FYI: had one WinXP Pro PC that did not get upgraded to SP3. Installed PWS 2.2.2222, and copied my .hdd and .pvs files over. On this PC, the Ubuntu guest is able to see and mount a USB Flash. Certainly looks to be a compatibility issue between Parallels 2.2 and WinXP Pro SP3, at least when it comes to USB... Does anyone have Ubuntu 8.04 guest on WinXP Pro SP3, that is actually able to access a USB flash drive? Regards, Pete
