XP installation problems - CD/DVD-ROM drive failed

    I am in the process of installing Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac on a MacBook and when inserting the XP Professional Version 2002 disc it keeps giving me the following message:

    Boot from hard drive failed
    Boot from CD/DVD-ROM drive
    Replace and press any key when ready

    Can you please help me to solve this issue so I can finish the installation?
