When windows' setup gets ready to restart after finishing the file copying portion, it throws up a bluescreen. This is essentially the same problem as outlined in http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=4355 , only in my case it was coming from a repair install of a migrated drive image (following this procedure http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=4571)

Trying a suggestion from the first thread above, I made an ISO of the disc and got a bit further (but only a bit). Now, instead of a bsod, I get this message:

"Setup cannot set the required Windows XP configuration information.
This indicates an internal Setup error.

    Contact your system administrator."

Checking with the big M, they offer only one possible cause: bad hardware (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316425). I can't exactly install / uninstall devices halfway through setup (nor should any old devices still be installed by this point).

So, now I'm looking back in Parallels' direction....

Oh and I'm on build 1970.

    Any ideas?

Also, I have to ask - what's the word on a physical to virtual machine migration tool? While I'm looking forward to 3D and USB 2 support and all, for us in the IT space, a migration tool is #1,2 and 3 on the needed features list :D
