When I try to install XP Professional I get the following error:

    Error:
SXS.DLL: Syntax error in manifest or policy file "D:\I386\asms\1000\MSFT\windows\gdiplus\GDIPLUS.MAN" on line 4.

    ***

    Error:
Installation Failed: D:\I386\asms. Error Message : The system cannot find the file specified.

    ***

    Fatal Error:
One of the components that Windows needs to continue setup could not be installed.

Can somebody help me with this problem. I search Microsoft Knowledge Base and could not find any information.

    Help, please:confused:

    XP won't install - SXS.DLL error

Another thread discussed this problem. Apparently, a suggestion was posted to use the Parallels Image Tool to create an ISO of the Windows CD and install from that. This appears to have resolved my problem. Make sure you point your CD/DVD device to this image after it's created so that you can startup from the image of the Windows CD.
