    Hi,

I just Uninstalled my previous Parallels instalation, than installed the new 1898 build.

First notice. I have 2GB RAM, and parallels wants me to set the limit to 2GB. I got ceveral messages about the 2GB limit. Does parallels not KNOW that my machine is only 2GB? ;-)

2nd. I ran a previously installed Windows (Installed on my Parallels on my MacBook Pro, which works just fine over there) with the 1898 build, but it freezez my system after startup of the windows. No panic here, just FREEZE

After starting up my system again, I set it to sleep, waited 30 seconds and woke it up from sleep. Than I ran parallels again, now it started my windows OK. Than I installed the new parallels tools. It asked me to restart windows, so I did, and after the restart, I got this panic:

I don't know if this is important, but my system has 2x512GB HD's in Mirrored RAID. My CPU is 2x3GHZ. For the rest, my system is standard.

This RC keeps my system hanging. Most of the time without a Panic log.

Build 1898 chokes/crashes on my Mac Pro, too

    Hi,

the current build 1898 still chokes on my Mac Pro, i.e. the whole system slows down dramatically (mouse cursor very slow and jumpy) and my only option is to perform a forced power down.

The choking happens after about 3 minutes of using Parallels at certain different situations including Windows XP (SP2) starting up and copying files from network. Today, I tried to use Parallels build 1898 for about two hours. In that time, I had to reboot my Mac Pro more than ten times due to the choking of Parallels.

It also happened two times that Parallels unexpectedly quitted when I tried to access files on a shared folder. Browsing a shared folder does not quit Parallels, but accessing a file causes the unexpected quitting. In that situation, my Mac Pro is running fine, but I have to reboot to get rid of the crashed Parallels process, because "Force quit" or "kill -9" do not help.

I have a Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 GHz with 4 x 512 MB memory, which is limited by Parallels to 1.95 GB, as indicated in the "About this Mac" screen. I am using Mac OS X 10.4.7 Build 8K1079. Parallels is running from a striped RAID consisting of two hard drives with 400 GB each. I am using Windows XP Professional SP2 as guest operating system to which I assigned 512 MB memory. I performed a clean install of parallels and also updated the Parallels tools inside the guest OS. Moreover, I checked that I have 1898 running and not a previous build.

I had the choking problem with all previous builds of Parallels Desktop. I tried 1898, 1896.2, 1884 and 1848.

    Thank you for your help.

    Sincerly,
    Patrick Röder

    Mac Pro Hangs

My Mac Pro 3Ghz with 2G RAM also hangs. I did up date the latest firmware yesterday. Before that is was working for a bit, but now it locks up the machine. No Panic just everything freezes the only way to fix is to power down from the power button on the front of the machine. I'm on 1989.
