I have already submitted this problem to the Parallels (10411237), but if someone has a solution, I'd love to hear it earlier rather than later. 1. Opened Parallels Desktop. 2. Started New Virtual Machine wizard. 3. Chose to install from file. 4. Selected the DLM-w7hp86iso.app file, which I have already downloaded per instructions on the "Installing Windows 7 Parallels Desktop 6 for MAC" which was included in the Downloads at the end of my purchase on your site. 5. System prompted me with "unable to detect OS" message, so I manually selected Windows 7 as the operating system. 6. System took me to a screen for entering my Windows Activation Unlock Code. 7. System took me to a terminal like window. See attached screenshot. "No boot device available." Not sure if this matters, but I purchased Parallels 7 and the Windows 7 Home Premium as a combination deal from your website here: http://www.parallels.com/windows7/ Thanks, Linda
This happens for me too when attempting to start a new VM Transported from Bootcamp (Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit). I tried all hardware device options, both IDE and SATA, but no boot device found on any of them! - You may find that your issue is fixed by selecting a different hardware device - it should be IDE 0:0 or SATA 0:1 I believe (but neither worked for me). Make sure your boot sequence is HDD/DVD. I raised ticket number 1228148 with Parallels Support for my particular issue... Hope this helps?
It turns out that using Parallels Transporter to copy a Bootcamp installation of Windows to a new VM is not the way to do it! It does not work!! The correct method is as follows (thanks to Parallels support for the advice): http://download.parallels.com/deskt...n_US/Parallels Desktop User's Guide/32733.htm Hope this helps someone!
No boo device installed on windows 7 parallels on mac i manually turned off/on my mac and when it boots up my parallels showing up this error "no boot device is unavailable". So reinstalled parallels and windows on it. But my question is how can I recover my old data as I have old .pvm or .hdd file. Please provide some solution. When I open .hdd file with parallel mounters it says " Parallel mounter is unable to open the virtual disk". So any idea ? Thanks.
