    Hi!
I used Parallels 5 with Windows XP on a MacPro 2008 model that used OS 10.6 util that machine crashed recently. I had to get a new MacPro 2011 model- it came with OS 10.7 Lion. I transferred the contents of my old hard drive to the new MacPro. Unfortunately I can not use Parallels. I get this message- Unable to load the Parallels driver.
How can I transfer my Parallels and most importantly the contents of Windows XP from the old HD to the new MacPro?
I can gladly upgrade, buy Parallels 7 if that is necessary.
    Best regards

    George

I think you will have to install Parallels, register it, etc. on your new computer to get everything set up. Your old VM file(s) are in your Documents folder (if you went with the default install). Make sure your VM file(s) are on your new computer where you want them. Start Parallels and select File/Open and select the VM file you want to run. (Or you can just double click on the VM file after installing Parallels)

Oh, and just noticed you are still using Parallels 5. I know version 7 is compatible with Lion, not sure what may/may not work using Parallels 5. An upgrade to version 7 is $49.99 and can be purchased and downloaded at http://www.parallels.com/store/ . You can download, install, register it then have in Open your VM file.
