So, I love parallels, I used it with XP all the time to do work previously. I had since wiped my drive, and didn't have parallels or a windows OS installed for a long time. I try to run parallels 3.something with my old activation key, and I guess it had expired or something along the line. I also notice I have a copy of parallels 4 on my drive, but I can't get it to run because the activation key(understandably so) doesn't work with the new version. So I figure, its been a while since I've used parallels, but I loved the old software so I'll just show some support, and buy the latest version(7). I buy it, go to install, and get this message: "Parallels Desktop cannot be installed on your Mac. Parallels Desktop can be installed on 64-bit Intel-based Macs only." I wish that had been more prominently advertised on the site, before the actual purchase, but whatever. Its my own lack of thoroughness thats led me to this. So now I've blown about $90 which admittedly, is definitely partly my own fault. But even after registering the product on the site, I get this: "Parallels Desktop Support code: Not available" under my account. Not only can I not run any version of PD at all, but I can't even get support because any ticket requires that code. I would really love any suggestions, and thanks in advance!
Hello ArcaneVibe, As I can see, your support code has already been created. Support code is not created instantly after key registration, it sometimes might take 30-60 minutes for synchronization. I have created a ticket to handle your issue with PD7 not supported, we will contact you shortly. If someone has similar problem, please create a free support request to customer service: http://www.parallels.com/support/request/ You will be prompted to log into your account if you were not logged in previously. Please select 'Customer Service and Licensing' category from the first drop-down list. Then select 'Parallels Desktop' as a product. It is a free support request and it does not prompt to enter the support code.
Thank you thank you thank you! I am so glad someone replied, and so quickly too! I sincerely appreciate it! I can see that now my support code has indeed shown up. I was concerned before, because it had already been several hours since registration and I still could not see it. And thanks for letting me know about the free support request; I was completely unaware of it.
I have the same problem and i receive the same error message of ArcaneVibe. How do I solve my problem? I have not purchased the product, but only the trial version. I am waiting for your reply. luca@graffieti.it
Hi Graf83, What's your Mac configuration? And what version of Parallels Desktop are you trying to install? Please attach a copy of your system profiler to your next response: click on the Apple Sign --> About this Mac --> More Info --> System Report --> File --> Save.
