Hi, Using a Mac Book Pro (late 2013) after I've upgraded to v10, on a Boot Camp partition running Windows 7, prl_tools_service.exe takes constantly +13% of CPU. I boot natively, not from Mac. Tried to stop the service and doesn't respond. Is it normal? Thankx, Laurentiu
Hi Laurentiu, Please click http://www.parallels.com/external/products/pd/direct-download/ to download Parallels Desktop 10 latest build and follow the steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/en/122647 to install Parallels Desktop 10. (Re)Install Parallels Tools as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/4841 and let us know how does it work.
I have the exact same problem -- when running Windows 7 natively, prl_tools_service.exe uses one CPU core constantly (which in my case is 25% of the total.) This doesn't happen when launching through Parallels in OSX. I am running the latest Parallels version -- 10.0.1 (27695).
Hi Ram, I have tried updating to 10.0.1 and reinstalling Parallel Tools Service (as suggested). No change, and @dcjeff is right - it is using one CPU core absolutely constant. Seems to be a real issue, can you please investigate?
Hi Guys, just in case someone else has the same problem: upgraded to 10.0.2 and parallel tools reverted to normal behavior (and CPU usage).
