Hi to the forum. I recently upgraded to the latest version of Parallels 11 ( version 11.1.0 ) and upgraded my Windows 7 to version 10. This is running on a Mac with OS 10 Yosemite. Not willing to go to el Capitan yet. The upgrade to Windows 10 went well. Kaspersky froze when updating the databases so I uninstalled and reinstalled the program. This has solved the problem. Some of my programs run ok but overall performance is slower than before with Windows programs ( no change in the Mac side ). About half of my Windows programs are now so slow as to be unusable. These are mostly shareware astronomy programs designed to handle large video files. Commercial packages like Corel Photopaint, Microsoft Office, and Sketchup eventually run ok but take absolutely forever to boot up. Sometimes they start and display the menu line at the top of the screen but nothing in the main area of the screen. I usually run Windows in coherence mode. Running directly in Windows does not seem to help the performance issue. Anybody else having this problem? Any fixes that are known? Thanks Don
Hello Donald, please create a Problem Report for the virtual machine as described here http://kb.parallels.com/en/9058 and provide us with the Problem Report ID.
Hi. I generated a problem report while trying to open a software package that takes forever to run. The problem report is 81458111. I also submitted a support request. This is ticket number 2203336 Thanks Don
Hi Donald, while checking with the support ticket number we found that the issue that you have reported has been resolved. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
The problem is apparently lack of ram memory in my computer. Windows 10 takes up quite a bit more memory space than Windows 7. I am getting my computer upgraded and doubling the ram. Hopefully this will solve the issue. I suggested in my comments for the problem report that the Parallels web site should contain a warning about this memory issue to those interested in upgrading to Windows 10.
