Just updated my ubuntu VM to 18.04 and now parallels tools fail to install. All I see is a greyed out "Installing Parallel Tools" in the virtual machine menu. Has anyone else faced this issue? My Parallels Desktop Pro version 13.3.0
Hello AjayR. Parallels Desktop 13 for Mac supports only up to Ubuntu 17.10 as the guest OS, Our engineers are working hard to add support for Ubuntu 18.04. Once it is fully supported by Parallels, we will add it to the list of supported guest OS's. At this time, we do not have a fixed date for adding support for the said guest OS.

Here's the answer: Launch "XTerm" or "UXTerm" and follow the instructions below: "The solution is to cd /usr/lib/parallels-tools then sudo ./install , which will execute the text installer. Incidentally sudo ./install-gui (from the same directory) will execute the GUI installer (requires X server). https://askubuntu.com/questions/12842/how-do-i-install-parallels-tools-via-the-command-line
