Further to this now copy paste does not work between Mac OS and Windows 11 VM.

The same thing is happening to me. Since the last update to Parallels, version 20.4.0 (55980), the Windows virtual machine shows Task Manager running continuously at 100%, even though nothing is being done.

The Mac Mini M4 gets very hot. After an hour, you can't hold your hand on it. I guess it's not a good idea to use it like that.

I'm seeing the same issue with Task Manager running continuously. Copy/paste is working fine.

It doesn't seem to be because of Parallels update. For me it happened after installed Windows 11 security update . After I uninstalled that update. The cpu consumption on my MacBook returned to normal.

Uninstalling latest updates seems to fix it, took me while to find:
Settings > System > Recovery > Advanced startup > Restart Now

Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Uninstall Updates > Uninstall latest quality update

Same issue here. I will also try and uninstall the latest windows update to see if it removes the problem.

Unfortunately it didn't seem to help. Uninstalled latest update, rebooted, and it was still pegging the performance cores. Reinstalled latest update, and it's still status quo. This is curious.

Windows just updated itself today, same issue.

Uninstalling the latest quality update fixed it again, I've paused updates.

This is the history for a working system:

Hmm, it will only let me uninstall KB5056580, which I do, and it seems to uninstall correctly. But it doesn't give me the option to uninstall KB5062552. Whether I uninstall or reinstall KB5056580, the problem remains. Are you able to uninstall KB5062552?

I don't know how to uninstall individual windows updates - there's only the "latest quality update" option, and that fails if I try to run it twice.

Joy! Updating to 24H2 does indeed fix it.

    A couple of notes:
    - I couldn't get Windows Update to find 24H2 itself
    - couldn't download iso from the Mac, had to download from the Win machine
    - if you don't see the "Keep personal files and apps" option, it is possibly the language version of the iso. I first tried "English International", but apparently "English Australia" is "English US"

It worked for me. The problem really is the KB5062552. After uninstall it, the system come back to normal. But, like you said, Windows Update will install it again.
I uninstalled the KB5062552 and installed 24H2. The system is working fine now. Thank you!

Uninstalling both KB5062552 and KB5062663 is the temporary fix for me.
Has the parallels team addressed the problem in 20.4.1 (55996), or can anyone confirm that Microsoft has fixed it in a later cumulative update? Thanks.

If there's any possibility you can move to 24H2 - this is resolved, along with many other reasons one would want to move to the current Windows version anyway.

    Hello,

Kindly attempt to update your Windows 11 virtual machine to version 24H2 as suggested:

To update your system to Windows 11 version 24H2 using the ISO file, please follow these steps carefully:
    1. In your virtual machine, download the official Windows 11 24H2 ISO from Microsoft's website ( https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows11 )
    2. Open the downloaded ISO file in File Explorer by double-clicking it.
    3. Run Setup.exe from the mounted ISO.
    4. Choose the Upgrade option and opt to keep your personal files and apps during this process.
    5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the upgrade.
    6. Once the upgrade is installed, restart your virtual machine.
Kindly let us know if this resolves the issue.
