Broken Games - Speak up here if you want to see a particular game working.

I'd like to see Settlers III working under parallels. It installs, but crashes with a DirectX error before finishing launching.

Xen inside Parallels Desktop for Mac

As of build 3120, Xen (3.0.2) once again successfully boots, and is able to launch guest domains. Woohoo -- thanks parallels team!

Xen inside Parallels Desktop for Mac

Just FYI, Xen is still broken in 3094. Hangs booting Dom0 after clearing RAM.

Xen inside Parallels Desktop for Mac

Build 3036 totally breaks running Xen as a guest. Before 1970, Dom0 would boot, but Parallels would crash when you ran a DomU inside Xen (inside Parallels). Around 1970 (and a few builds before that), everything was fine, except for the clock synchronization issue. Now with 3036 Dom0 won't...

Clock out of sync for Linux

I can switch between my clock running too fast or too slow by adding or removing these options: acpi=off clock=pit nosmp noapic nolapic So far, I haven't figured out a combination that makes the clock run correctly, but I'm still trying

Xen inside Parallels Desktop for Mac

Nightwolf -- It does work now. Give it a try. The only problem I'm seeing is that the Dom0's clock is wonky, though this isn't Xen-specific -- lots of Linux guests have wonky clocks in Parallels and VMWare: http://kb.vmware.com/KanisaPlatform/Publishing/329/1420_f.SAL_Public.html...

Has anyone installed Parallels on MBP with Core 2 Duo?

I too have been happy with Parallels 1970 on my MacBook Pro Core2Duo. I'm running Linux and Xen guests (for only a day now).

Linux guest OS clock wrong each restart

Actually, yes, it did. That and a few reboots, and I seem to have a synchronized clock. I seemed to have suffered both from drift and a timezone issue. All is well now. Thanks!

Linux guest OS clock wrong each restart

different problem, same symptom? My guest machine's clock is also off (let's see, 18 hours behind), but /etc/default/rcS says UTC=no Hmmmm.

Xen inside Parallels Desktop for Mac

...won't work... (resisting urge to snark) >Emulators that use hardware support won't ever run under other emulators. Wait for the Mac version. Xen does have a mode that uses hardware support, but that support is quite new (VT), and it also runs on earlier hardware without that support...

Xen inside Parallels Desktop for Mac

Xen... I've been trying for months now. I saw it work twice (thanks, Bjorn!), but couldn't reproduce it myself, nor could the original user. One thing we definitely noticed is that networking can't be bridged, but rather must be host only. What I see most of the time is that Xen boots...

    Can't launch RC2 1920

ditto here, except I can boot harddrive based images, my "unexpectedly quit" messages only happen when there's a CD in the drive, and it happens before Parallels unmounts the disc. Perhaps this is a symptom?

OS Collection gaps (NeXT, gentoo, Xen not working) in RC2

I am 100% aware that the primary goal of most Parallels users is seamless Windows XP support. I'm in the non-zero minority of users who really want to use Parallels to finally play with a pile of x86 OS's at hardware speeds (woohoo! VPC is great, but not nearly as fast as these Intel macs of...

Mac Mini, VT-x, Linux & Xen

Beta 5 boots Xen 3 Test CD! Subject says it all -- the latest Parallels beta boots the Xen 3 Test CD, and passes all but one test (the networking test). This is great news to me: I think it means I can use my Mini ICBM (intel chip-based mac) to do Xen kernel development without ever having...

    "Clean" uninstall

re: uninstall -- a clean OS: Parallels gives this to us for Windows Regarding the lack of trust in beta (or malicious) software -- one of the coolest things to use a virtualization product for in the Windows world is to quickly be able to "go back" to a believed clean state -- you don't need to...

Mac Mini, VT-x, Linux & Xen

Yes! Xen as Guest OS is interesting! Add my voice to the list of Xen-hacking (wannabe) folk who would like to be able to run a healthy Xen as a guest inside of Parallels. This would be an OS-development environment extraordinaire!

    Installation Impossible

my success booting I relate my success booting from CDs in this thread: http://forum.parallels.com/thread73-4.html The key is the IDE device -- I had to set it to 0:1 Your mileage may vary -- mine did -- even this didn't work for me every time. Weird! dylan

Can't get workstation to recognize CD for install

Some joy (boot device) I have also had the problem others have had with "No boot device found". I thought beta 4 would solve my problems, but it didn't. Before giving up entirely, I started messing around with all of the Parallels configuration options. I found one that worked: I...
