What version of ActiveSync are you installing? Have you tried reinstalling a new version of Flash Player downloaded at Adobe's site?

What build of Parallels are you using? This is an anomaly in on older builds. It looks good but it's actually a farce.
I would. That could be why it hangs on certain websites but not others. It's worth a try.
Have you installed Flash Plugin?
I would delete all shortcuts created by Parallels in OSX and then try to repopulate them. I had the same issue and this resolved it immediately...
I would use either AVG Free Edition, Kapsperky (top rated right now) or NOD32. All these are much better than Norton and take less system resources.
Did you by chance have Norton Anti-virus or Norton Internet Security running and recently uninstalled it?
I still get it occasionally with Build 5584 and 10.5.2. Not often enough to be a major annoyance.
I'm using both with heavily with no issues.
Windows XP Pro SP2 and Quickbooks Pro 2006, 2007 and 2008 on 10.5.1 and Parallels 5584 works perfectly.
You can also get OpenOffice for Windows which is free. Works very well. Google it for more info.

Try booting you XP VM in SafeMode, if you haven't already to see if your VM is not corrupt. If is boots then you see that it may be driver issue....
