What a coincidence, I'm also using it to manage the frequencies in my marine SSB/ham radio!
However, I have some navigation programs that also need serial support so I totally agree that Parallels needs to step up and address the general problem. I don't care who's h/w they choose to...
I used a Keyspan 4 port serial / USB hub, but could not get access to the serial ports under XP (as noted in the Keyspan manual). I then tried adding a single port Keyspan adapter, but the driver in the MacOS supports both the 4 and 1 port adapters and seemed to grab it anyway. I even tried...
John, I have the same problem. Everything was working fine, then the last time I started up, the NAT device gets a self assigned address, can't get to the DHCP. The Parallels Guest is fine.
So can you put your instructions into English? I can run a terminal line, but how do I get to root...
How about the Edgeport/8 serial USB converter. Will that work under Parallels. I'm going to have this problem in about 3-4 weeks. I have serial devices that need to interface to both Parallels and the OS X.
Running in full screen mode, in an assigned space, I have essentially a windows machine in that space. Unfortunately in this configuration Expose treats Parallels as a single window. What would be very cool is to have Expose work when in full screen mode in an assigned space. Expose would...
I run Windows in "full screen" mode, and assign it to a specific space. This keeps it within its "space", no taskbars in other spaces. However, even when it is assigned, if I select coherence, then the task bar is in every space. This behavior is not consistent with other applications which...
Bridged fixed it
I had the same problem, but switching to Bridged networking fixed it. This is was not the care previously when I used shared networking and the updates worked fine.
Do I always need bridged networking now to get my updates?
Still have this error in 5582
Same problem. I leave my system running for some number of hours I get the video memory error. The only thing running under XP was Outlook.
This problem has been around quite awhile.
MBP 15", 2.4GHz, 4GB.
Official Statement
I've held off updating to Leopard due to the extensive list of issues and problems. At the same time, I'm not happy with 5160 and Tiger because I keep getting this video memory error. So 5160 does not work reliably with Tiger or Leopard. These problems have persisted for...
I have 4GB of memory and at least 1GB free. I've upped the video memory, but it does nothing. I think there is either a leak or some other sort of bug. This only started with 5160.
Same problem, started with 5160, MBP 15". Seems to happen after OSX goes to sleep, then wakes up. I rarely shutdown / startup, but I close the cover over night and get the error in the morning.
