I used to do just this with VMWare. It worked fine. It was a bit tricky setting up the different profiles, but once you do that there aren't really any problems.

This sounds like it may be the "sound adapter bug". Try removing the sound adapter from your VM config. I had similar issues with XP under PW. I would suspend XP, sleep the mac, resume the mac and restart XP in PW and it would hang every time. -Will

Reinstalling Parallels fixed the problem. I'm guessing that Little Snitch changed something in the network drivers that parallels needed.

Hmmm. That didn't do it for me. I'm going to try reinstalling parallels and see what happens.

If they can't see or hear you, how do you figure that you are able to use iSight?

Parallels doesn't support SMP at this time so in the short run Pro won't buy you much. I'm not sure about SMP in Parallels as far as future support. -Will

I agree with this. I tolerate the suspend slowness for this very reason. I'm hoping that Parallels can do something to speed this up. Has anyone noticed if suspend takes longer based on the amount of memory given to the guest OS? -Will

I am getting the same problem in Cygwin running on a Win XP Pro Guest.

I prefer it on the right for screenspace. I would also like to see an option for smaller / hidden icons.

I had a similar problem. I don't think I ever rebooted after the beta 3 install. When I installed beta 4 it looked like it was doing a clean install. The installer caused the system to completely hang. I rebooted (hard reboot) and ran the installer again. This time it did the appropriate beta 3...

I too would like this support. I have issues running VMWare's Virtual Center client inside of a parallels winxp pro guest. I can run it inside of remote desktop (on the XP guest). I'm guessing that the problem is overlay. -Will

Have you installed Parallels tools? I'm running XP Pro and my boot does not take a minute. It is probably around 30 seconds. I haven't timed it though. Mouse movement is also not jerky. I'm running MBP 2GHz 1GB RAM 7200RPM HD. -Will

Are you able to read all of the files in OS X? I had some issues with reading CDs that were burned in Windows on OS X. Could be a CD-ROM drive difference.
