X64 applications do not open in parallels detkop

Hi, How does Parallels roadmap to improve the x64/x86 emulation on Apple silicon look like? The current implementation is simply unusable for me. I need a possibility to run a x64 Windows 11 VM on my Apple silicon (M1 Max) in the near future, as there are a number of x86/x64 applications not...

Parallels Desktop 9 and Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite (as a guest OS) compatibility

I must admit that I was a bit too quick when complaining about PD (see the message I wrote on page 7 in this threat)....I tried VMware for several days, but I was not too happy with Fusion: - While the import of the Win 7 and Win 8.1 VMs into VMware worked well (except the cursor issue below)...

Parallels Desktop 9 and Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite (as a guest OS) compatibility

I have used PD since version 3.0, and I have upgraded every time since. However, I have been feeling like a cash cow for some time paying for an update every year just to maintain full compatibility with the current Mac OS version. Adding to that has been the annoying waiting time when a new...

    Mint 17

Do you have any information on when PD 9 will be fully compatible with Mint 17 out of the box?

    Full Fedora 17 support?

No magic, just installed the PD-Tools. Did not encounter any error messages. The new PD-Release tonight still does not support Xorg 1.12 (just tried...)

    Full Fedora 17 support?

Apparently, the update last night didn't upgrade the 1.12.0 xorg-driver... PD 7 does still not support Fedora 17 fully et.

    Full Fedora 17 support?

This week, I downloaded and installed Fedora 17 in a VM. Installing the Parallels Tools went well, but after booting, only shared folders worked. Dynamic switching of the screen resolution did not work, mouse pointer integration did'd work as well. Has anyone found a way to get Fedora 17...

Performance difference between running 'native' VM or imported from Bootcamp?

No need to migrate. You can use the Bootcamp partition in a virtual machine and switch from virtualized to native Windows and back if you need lots of (especially graphic card) power.

    Ubuntu 11.10

I also installed the Ubuntu 11.10 64bit-version. With your hint on the symlink, the PD-tools installed without any problems :-) I am rather positively surprised that the current PD 7 does support Ubuntu 11.10 without an update...

Ubuntu 11.04 support for Parallels Tools

Thanks, Parallels guys for the update :-) However, I also get the mentioned artefacts on Fedora 15 and Unity. And Gnome 3 does not run in 3D-mode, but in the fallback mode. Maybe we should open another threat for that...

Ubuntu 11.04 support for Parallels Tools

I understand that it takes some time for the updates. But I don't understand that it takes sooooooo long, especially after the lenghty beta stage of Ubuntu. PD does currently not support OpenSuse 11.4, neither the newly released Fedora 15, Kubuntu 11.04. Apparently, you guys focus on other...

Ubuntu 11.04 support for Parallels Tools

Good :-) But still: Why don't you guys at Parallels Inc monitor the main developments in the Linux scene like the new kernel or x-org-releases? Sooner or later, they appear in all the linux distros, mostly after a longer beta stage...

Ubuntu 11.04 support for Parallels Tools

X-org 1.10/Ubuntu Parallels Desktop does probably not support Ubuntu 11.04, since it uses X-org 1.10.0. This is probably also the reason OpenSUSE 11.4 is not supported yet. I don't understand why Parallels has not been able to release an update yet: Both Ubuntu 11.04 and OpenSUSE 11.4 have...

    Ubuntu 9.10 parallels tool

Works with PD 5 I have installed Parallels Desktop 5 yesterday. The tools appear to be working in Ubuntu 9.10 (Fullscreen, mousesharing, filesharing and so on).

    OSX 10.5 on Snow Leopard.

Sorry, only the server-version of Mac OS X can run in a virtual machine. A normal OS X client in a virtual does not work (and Apple does not allow that, as far as I know).

    Wishes for next Parallels Build

Hi Parallels-Team, I have some wishes for the next 4.0 Parallels build: -full support for Windows 7 (includes using Windows 7 Boot Camp partitions in Parallels) -support of current linux-distros like Fedora 11 (and maybe the upcoming Fedora 12), OpenSuse 11.1 (and maybe the upcoming...

    Linux Distro that works

I have installed OpenSuse 11.0 and Fedora 10. Both work perfectly well with the 3844-release of parallels desktop (tools installed)
