I use AVG - it does the job. My company uses Norman, but it seems to hang the VM on shutdown.

Bump..... Should the default network adapter pick up whatever network connection is available via the host? Should it be possible to close the lid in the office, disconnect the RJ45, then open the lid at home and continue working? It's what VP7 does (about the only thing it does at any speed!)

Is there any way to set up Parallels so that you can move from a wired location (ethernet) to a wireless one (airport) without having to restart the VM to get it to pick up the connection? It truely is a pain the the **s to have to reboot between home and office......

Great work on B5 - its really rocking now! The default network adapter setting is a good addition, but the VM still needs to be rebooted when moving from an Airport/Wireless network to a wired network. Is there any way around this?

Verified the HD, fixed permissions, even booted in single-user mode and fsck'd. Just booted the VM ,windows sharing disappeared as usual, but lnk did not appear. Another feature I have noticed is that sometimes I cannot launch Mac apps while a VM is running. Definitely all on the Mac...

Too good to be true - its happening again. Interesting observation, when Windows sharing becomes disabled an additional panel on the Hardware pane of System preferences called lnk appears - it seems to be related to a tablet, with handwriting recognition preferences..... Curious.......

Solved it..... I had Apple Remote Desktop enabled so that I could VNC from another machine. Turned it off, and all is now well. Another minor bug for you guys!

Why does launching Parallels disable Windows Sharing on the host (OSX)? I have tried everything I can think off, including completely removing and re-installing the Parallels app (as per script posted on this forum), but it still does it every time! Tried a new VM too.... Using MBP, 2.16...

Judging from the response, this may not be an issue for others, but the Parallels team may (or perhaps may not) be interested. I removed all Parallels components, restarted, reinstalled Beta 4 once again and find I have the same problem. Once I do anything on the VM needing network access...

Its not bonjour. I have also tried a backup VM which I stored prior to Beta 4. Once the VM access the network Windows sharing on the host is disabled. I am using a VM with XPSP2, fully up-to-date. My Mac is a MBP, 2.16GHz, 2GB RAM.
