Leopard Problems - Advice re Fusion Switch?

I think my Parallels 5160 runs fine on Leopard (haven't tested it very much but I started on Leo and didn't report any problems so I assume that it works). The other thing is Leopard... I think it's the worst release of X I've seen until today (ok, I admit it: 10.0 was even worse)... I...

5160 is working fine for me

For me, 5160 is also one of the best releases of PD. CPU usage is good and it looks like they're using the freed cycles to boost the performance. Guild Wars Fractions still runs horribly slow, but I think the frame rate doubled (and now is nearly playable)... (I'm using PD since it's initial...

Parallels 3.0. Build 5060 (Beta) Vs. Fusion 1.0 Final

iFrodo, I think the basic concept of using 2 cores compared to 1 core is "fair": It's what fusion can do, otherwise they should have left out the "Quake 4" test to be "fair" too. They compared the products and yes, one runs 2 cores but no quake the other product utilizes only one core but runs...

5 Days Left on Trial Activation - Need New Key

When you did a backup (always do backups before upgrading the PD !) of you VM's & harddisks (-file) you can uninstall PD3.0 and reinstall PD2.5 (or whatever version you had before). If you didn't make a backup, then you'll have a problem... the files are no longer compatible, so it won't run...

Coherence vs. Full Screen or OS View

Thinking on performance from a programmers point of view (I didn't do any tests): Best: Fullscreen Ok: Windowed-Mode Worst: Coherence Personally, I'm using a 800x600 Window (XP turned off all "eye candy" in it) and then switch to coherence when I'm using windows programs a bit more...

I think this actually a very good question ! If anyone has an insight to this, it would be very great (& @parallels, can you help with this one ?)

    Satisfied v.3 Upgrader

Hi there ! Add me to the list of happy customers too ! I'm a long time reader of this forum but I seldom post here. 3.0 brought several improvements (including running a faster FFXIBench (with some bugs but the number is "impressive")). Another thing is that I can launch OSX Apps from...

    External HD-DVD drive for HD-Movies ?

Hi, I once read that it's possible to connect a XBox360 HD-DVD drive to a PC or Mac (unfortunately the Mac doesn't have a HD-DVD-Player). Is it possible to connect it to the Parallels VM and install a DVD-Player which supports HD-DVDs to watch movies in 720p/i respectivley 1080p/i ? Did...

Maybe some additional information would be helpful: 1. Which "company application" are you running ? I think there are several thousand of them... 2. Which OS do you have installed (incl. patches) ? 3. How is your VM configuration ? Cheers, Uezi

    Help!

Alternatives for G4-Users: Maybe you can use Q which is based on QEMU but it will be slow (XP might even be useable but Vista (I tested beta2(?) on a 1.6 GHz single G5 and it was not usable) http://www.kju-app.org/ Maybe bochs (the open IA-32 Emulator) can help too but I didn't look into...

    No Sound Input ?

I can record in "sound recorder". Did you set the Mac OS X's side ? Go to "System Preference" -> "Sound" -> "Input" and select the source you want to record from (e.g. "Internal Microphone"). What Mac are you using ? Otherwise it could be your System. I see you're using 10.4.9...

Routing MacBookPro 'line in' to Parallels XP Guest

Select your Audio-input source in Mac OS X System Preferences. When it's set to Mic, Parallels will use the Mic. Set it to Line-in... et voila ! Parallels will now use the Line-in.

"Install Macintosh Drivers for Windows XP.exe"

You'll have to install the bootcamp assistant to get the drivers. Don't worry, you don't actually modify your system. The bootcamp installation will install the "bootcamp assistant" from which you can then extract the exe (Right-click as stated above, just don't run the boot camp assistant !)...
