    RC2 and Solaris 10 install

You need to get the X11 configuration and pick PS/2 style mouse. You can navigate using the keyboard and then start a terminal window to do the reconfiguration.

Video emulation not compatible with Solaris 9

The instructions only work with Solaris 10. I have that running well. It requires using the Xorg drivers which I have not been able to locate for Solaris 9.

Video emulation not compatible with Solaris 9

Attempting to configure Solaris 9 (x86) for X11 display does not work with the current VESA emulation -- and did not work with the prior beta or rc distributions. The window expands to the selected screen size, but remains black. Are there plans to fix this issue by GA? Thank you, Bill

    Parallel's VM Hanging

With sound driver completely removed, I still experience lockups of Windows XP. So... this is not the solution for all lockups. The lockups occur after Mac OS X has kicked in the screen saver and then went to sleep. When I wake up OS X, the Windows XP VM clock shows the time the system...

    What's New/What's Fixed in Beta6 (comments)

If you mount the Parallels tools ISO under Solaris, there is a compatible network driver with install instructions in the directory. The mouse requires selecting PS/2 and graphics requires selecting VESA compatible -- with panning disabled.

    Help installing Solaris 10

Currently, the Solaris Express release will not install. This is not a Parallel's only issue. According to posts in the Sun forum's some "real" PC hardware is having the same issue with installation. You can install Solaris 10 1/06 release without encountering this error message.

    Suse 10.1 - report

If you are trying to bridge to AirPort and use DHCP, this is broke in Linux. You will need to either bridge to the wired Ethernet or use host only networking and enable Mac network sharing between the AirPort and the Parallels adapter (usually en2). Before starting the Mac network sharing, be...

Suse is unable to access bridged network

If you look through the forum, you will see that this is a known issue with Linux and DHCP via bridging to the AirPort interface. If you bridge the the wired Ethernet you will not have an issue. If you must use the wireless interface, there are two alternatives. One, assign a static...

It's been 10 days since beta 6 - something good must be brewing ;-)

The sound support is not the only issue with suspending a client OS. Under Solaris (no sound support) any time my MacBook Pro suspends I have a complete freeze of the client and I am unable to exit Parallels -- beach ball cursor "forever". It is necessary to perform a Force Quit and restart...

Solaris 10 but No muse & Video is whack!

For me, the following works: Video: VESA, 1024x768 (resolution is your choice, but do not enable panning) Mouse: PS/2

    Solaris 9... can it work?

Which Solaris 10 release are you working with? I understand from the Sun forums that there is a problem with the Solaris 10 Express releases even on native hardware -- installation fails due to a reported missing file and then says the image/disk is not a valid install disk. Not really an...

no ethernet support in FreeBSD 6.1, OpenBSD 3.9

I have had the same issue with Linux when DHCP is specified and I use the wireless adapter on the Mac. Specifying a static IP for the adapter works fine. Maybe this will help with your FreeBSD issues also.

    Solaris 9... can it work?

I have Solaris 10 running under Parallels. The X11 configuration and network configuration were not difficult. The issue is with Solaris 9. It seems that the X server VESA driver and the Parallels VESA implementation are not working together. The Parallels window resizes to match the...

    Solaris 9... can it work?

I have made several attempts to install Solaris 9, and finally have a version that installed and boots. But I am only able to get it to run in text mode. As soon as it attempts to switch to the graphical login, I get the correct size window, but it is black and the virtual machine appears to...

Host-Only Network - how to enable it?

Multiple adapters Having the ability to create/access multiple adapters from the client OS would solve many problems for me. I envision the following configuration for Windows: Network Adapter 1: Bridged to en0 -- direct access to my wired network when connected Network Adapter 2...

Parallels Workstation 2.1 beta2 known issues

Network sharing with OS X All, I was able to get network sharing working to my MacBook Pro from Windows XP SP2 by simply enabling the Windows Sharing on the Mac and then directly browsing to the Mac by entering the IP address in the Start->Run... box. I could not do a full network browse...
