    time synchronization and suspend/resume bug

Bug or not... It's a bug. It was reported some time ago (no pun intended), and I thought that I recalled that it was fixed in one of the 3.0 betas. Must have broken again in the 3.0 release.

    Switching View Mode

Start Parallels from the main Parallels app in your Applications folder, rather than starting your individual Windows VM. Then do a shutdown from within Windows (Start -> Turn off computer -> Shutdown). Once the VM shuts down, Parallels itself should stay open so that you can edit the VM's...

    Slow/erratic DNS lookups...

Are you having any DNS lookup issues from the Mac side?

Something certainly wrong with Vista and Parallels

You mentioned that you had installed the Bootcamp 1.2 drivers into Vista. I'm sure that you realize these won't help you in Parallels. Did you install the Parallels tools? How much memory did you assign to Vista in Parallels? On my Mac Pro, I have given it 1 gig, and it runs fine.

    New Beta Program--bug?

When I went to the home page today and tried to download, it sent me 3188, which has been out for quite some time. What was the version number of the file that you downloaded?

Can a Vista Boot Camp partition be used as a VM?

You can not run a VM based upon a Vista bootcamp partition. Only XP bootcamp partitions work at present.

Can I use Bootcamp with Vista on external HD?

At this time, I don't believe that Parallels will open a bootcamp Vista image. XP will work, but not Vista.

3150 - ACPI - Upgrade XP to Vista

I believe that I have read in other threads that you can not do an upgrade to Vista within a VM, you must (as you have found) do a clean install. A bootcamp upgrade should work fine, just not one within a Parallels VM.

XP hangs on startup of VM

I used Transporter to import an image of XP Home from an old PC that I have, and it completed successfully. However, when I start the VM, it will load for 2-3 seconds, and then hang. I can boot into safe mode, but it will not boot in regular mode into XP. I have seen similar behavior at...

    Vista RC2 install: 32-bit or 64-bit?

As you may have noticed, in the post just above yours it is noted that Parallels does not emulate a 64 bit machine. Therefore, 64 bit Vista will not install and run properly under Parallels. This has nothing to do with Microsoft nor Intel.

Making Parallels available to User problem

Rather than complain at you for not searching, perhaps this link will be more helpful. Contains the solution that another user found to the same problem: http://forums.parallels.com/thread5586.html Here's a complete, step-by-step guide: http://forums.parallels.com/post29359-8.html...

    Problems downgrading. Any suggestions?

Not a dumb question at all. I believe that if you use the uninstaller, there is no need to re-enter your serial # (at least I haven't had to). If you manually delete all things Parallels, you may delete the file that contains your serial #, and have to re-enter it.

Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3036 Beta is available for download.

I had to reboot the box by holding in the power button until it shut down. Once it came back up, I started Parallels, and adjusted the settings. There seem to be several problems with the new beta and the Mac Pro.

Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3036 Beta is available for download.

Nick (or anyone on the Parallels team) - After a bit more experimenting, I have narrowed down my Vista problems to the fact that when I first open one of my existing VMs, they have been in a suspended state. Parallels reports that the current state of the VM is incompatible with the new...

Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3036 Beta is available for download.

It seems to work as long as you turn off the automatic memory allocation feature (under preferences in Parallels). However, I have found another problem. This one involved Parallels tools in Vista (the RTM version of Vista). Once the tools are installed, when you reboot the VM, it will not...

Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3036 Beta is available for download.

Problem on Mac Pro Tim - Upon further testing, I have found that the problem seems to stem from allowing Parallels to automatically set the amount of system memory. If I set it manually, the VM boots up just fine.

Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3036 Beta is available for download.

Problems w/Mac Pro Tim - It looks like one of the old Mac Pro bugs is back. When attempting to launch an existing VM under the new beta, I get a spinning beachball, and my system becomes unresponsive. I have to do a hard shutdown. I will try creating a new VM and see how that goes. My...

Right Button on Apple Mighty mouse

Right button I think AlanH has the right answer, you have to make sure that the right button is set up properly in system preferences. My Mighty Mouse (corded) works just fine (both left and right button clicks) in both XP and Vista.

    Vista video driver

I am running the Vista RTM on a Mac pro, and have not problems in the Parallels VM. However, Parallels does not currently support the 3D video functions necessary for the Aero graphics, if that's what you're referring to. You may have better luck running Vista via Bootcamp, if you want the...
