My Windows Vista instance has recently acquired a quirk. Files are created for applications which the application has no problem finding, but when I go to those directories to see the files they are not there. I've searched on Windows and on my Mac and nothing. Where are they all going?

With the last upgrade, Little Snitch is telling me that prl_disp_service wants to connect to parallels.com every time I boot. Why is this thing wanting to phone home when it's not running? And why is there a parallels process running in the background in the first place?
