    Parallels 3.0

I purchased Parallels back last year after the initial release. Unfortunately, I lost my reg email due to a hard drive crash so I'm not sure what I qualify for. What are my options?

"Use Boot Camp" option grayed out

it works for me now with a separate XP hard disk but I have to manually edit the config file to put the disk and partition number in. this is ok but the problem is the disk number sometimes changes between boots so the file has to be edited again. i appreciate that they put this manual feature...

Parallels Desktop Beta 3106 Doesn't work with my Partition Scheme

You should be asking for the option to manually pick the volume or partition you want the VM to boot from. That would solve your problem as well as many others with various other types of configs. See this thread: http://forum.parallels.com/thread6135.html

"Use Boot Camp" option grayed out

that's the solution i have been asking for over and over on the beta thread but the dev's have never acknowledge anything about this problem. the only thing they've done is request volume mounting lists. it seems like they want to keep adapting their hard code solution to recognize more...

"Use Boot Camp" option grayed out

here's the relevant section: so, the interesting thing is that the location of the boot camp volume is not stored anywhere in this file. I had thought that there would be a line sort of like: "Disk 0:0 image = /dev/disk0" or something like that which could be modified to point to the...

"Use Boot Camp" option grayed out

not resolved for me in Beta 3. however, i'm using a separate hard disk with XP installed on it, which is outside of the extremely narrow set of configs that the parallels wizard is looking for.

"Use Boot Camp" option grayed out

can somebody post their .pvs file in text format that contains a valid working boot camp hard disk configuration? maybe we can hack in recognition for a drive that isn't detected.

Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3106 Beta 3 is available for download.

So here we are with a whole new beta version and still no ability to manually select a hard disk or volume to work around the Boot Camp greyed out problem. And not even an answer from the devs on why this can't be made an option? Since the problem seems to be with Parallels detecting the...

Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3094 Beta 2 is available for download.

still seeing alot of people with a variety of hardware configurations that have the problem of Parallels not seeing their Boot Camp install. Please chime in to agree with my original post because I really think this is a very valid question for Parallels to answer: "Why not just let the user...

Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3094 Beta 2 is available for download.

very simple question for the devs with all the problems with parallels not detecting boot camp partitions and windows installed on separate hard disks, why not just have a drive selection dialog and let the user pick a mounted drive? if it's for simplicity sake to try to auto-detect it for...

Parallels Desktop for Mac build 3036 Beta is available for download.

is there any way to get parallels to recognize a dedicated hard disk with windows installed on it but no boot camp? i have a separate hard disk installed that I can boot windows with, but would like to be able to run parallels from that as well, but the wizard looks like it looks for a specific...

"Use Boot Camp" option grayed out

i'm having the same problem with the Boot Camp option greyed out. I have a separate physical hard disk installed with windows on it that I want to use exclusively for Parallels, thus I don't need Boot Camp installed on it. Yet Parallels won't recognize it. I think they need to loosen up the...
