    Leopard - Parallels 3 - Drive C Won't Mount

There was a thread about this exact problem the other day. No solution yet. I'm running release 5160. Where it get to be a real problem is when you open a file on the windows side and expect a mac appliction to handle it. It can't, because it can't access the c drive. Hmm.

    Timed Out - Volume Ejected

As best I can tell, it seems to be an issue with MacFuse. This is the error from the console: 10/24/07 12:36:35 PM [0x0-0x28028].com.parallels.desktop[302] fusefs@0 on /private/tmp/302/C (gave up on init handshake)

    Timed Out - Volume Ejected

I'm having the same issue, running on build 9a581 of Leopard. Unable to access the windows file system from the mac under any circumstances. This is with parallels build 5160.

    4560 -> 5160, Are you happy?

I've been very happy, with one exception that has been a problem off an on with Parallels on my macbook pro. I have to be careful not to simply close the laptop, because if a parallels window is in the foreground, the computer won't properly go to sleep. I've gotten into the habit of pausing...

Shared profile / Win XP / Boot Camp / 2 drives -- odd problem

Hello, This is an odd one. I was running the previous beta (5060 I think) with shared desktop and it was working great. Here's my config: Macbook Pro/ 3 Gb ram with 2 hard drives (second drive replaced the surperdrive) Boot camp installed on second disk Running boot camp installation...

Problem with closing outlook email windows in parallels: VERY SLOW

For what it's worth. I have the same problem with Outlook, but on my Windows PC (as well as when I run parallels). This may be an outlook issue, rather than parallels.

Kerning and Font issues in parallels

Matthias, It may be an issue in your windows configuration. I do a fair amount of typesetting myself, and haven't had any differences. Are you running the same versions of Acrobat and/or other software? As far as Windows knows, it IS running on a "pure" pc. While parallels handles the...

Performance query: Upgrade from old to new MBP, 3GB RAM

I'm running a macbook pro with 3 gb and generally get great performance. The latest beta build runs too much processor time, but I'm hoping they'll work that our before the GA release. I'm giving 1 GB to windows, because I'm constantly running SQL Server express and Coldfusion MX in Windows...

Problem with Mac Sleep - Is it Coherence? A Bug?

I get this if I have a Windows/parallels app in the foreground. If I bring a OSX app to the foreground, it sleeps just fine. Don't ask me why.

How To: Updating XP Home to XP Pro Using Parallels?

Microsoft doesn't support upgrading from Home to Pro.

Version 3 users: Should the rest of us upgrade?!

I pre-ordered the upgrade and I've been very happy with it -- none of the problems other users are reporting (although, to be fair, I haven't even tried gaming). Running MBP core 2 duo with 3 Gb ram, with Windows Vista enterprise running off a boot camp partition.

Question about shared apps and email

Hi all, First, this isn't a rant. I love the new 3.0 version, I'm running it with my boot camp Vista install and it runs great. Now, to my question -- I'm trying to figure out how to associate Entourage with the "send to" dialogue in Windows. Vista doesn't seem to register the shared...

Install Parallels/Win XP on new MBP (MacBook Pro)

Boot up in safe mode -- press fn-f8 as soon as you turn the vm on. Once you boot up in safe mode, you should have access to those keys. Remove parallels tools. Reboot. Once you reboot, install the new version of tools.

ClamXav found virus on .hdd file

Windows XP a virus? This might imply that Windows itself is a virus.

Viewing e-mail attachment in the Virtual Machine

In Parralels -- configure shared folder called Home pointing to \users\username In Windows -- map a drive to .\psf\Home Right click my documents - select properties. Point my documents to your newly mapped drive. Now, whenever you save anything in your documents folder, it will appear in...

Port Forwarding from OSX to Guest

This is likely a problem with your machine or configuration. I used "shared networking" with wireless all day, every day on my Macbook Pro. I tend to fluctuate from working at home on my linksys router to starbucks to my office a couple times a month, and never have problems connecting from any...

    Boot Camp Vista, anyone?

    1. Share your home folder through parallels. 2. Map as drive to it in windows 3. In Windows, right click on "My Documents", select Properties, point it to your documents folder in OSX You now have a shared user folder. In XP you can set the other user folders using TweakUI, but I stopped...

Try to put in a blank password. If you didn't create one, that's what it should be.

How to Back Up "My Documents" on C Drive?

You can also map "My Documents" directly to any folder, including a network folder. I simply mapped "My Documents" to \\.psf\documents which is mapped to my \users\charles\documents folder. That way, apps on both sides see the same set of docs.

DESPERATE: Recover virtual HDD deleted by "recreate" [tech support absent]

UniAce -- I don't know about Matlab -- if it saves its files in "My Documents," you can easily enough redirect that to a shared folder in parallels. I don't keep any actual data on my XP installation, only the programs. So, if I toast the VM (which I've done through pure negligence a couple of...
