    2X Scripting provides system administrators a way to programmaticaly interface with 2X VirtualDesktopServer and 2X ApplicationServer using any modern scripting language such as VBScript.

    The 2X Scripting API is a COM object that allows users to retrieve and save settings on their 2X VirtualDesktopServer and 2X ApplicationServer. Amongst other things, one will be able to:

    * List all Terminal Servers
    * List all Virtual Hosts
    * Publish new applications/desktops
    * Enable/Disable Terminal Servers
    * Enable/Disable Virtual Hosts
    * Configure Terminal Servers
    * Configure Virtual Hosts
    * Add filters to published applications/desktops

    scripting capabilities

    Hi Matthewx,

    Will scripting allow you to interface with 2x's user authentication?
    It would be good to be able to use 3rd party "multi-factor" authentication methods with 2x, eg- virtual keyboards, captchas and otp mechanisms.

    Re: scripting capabilities

    Dear jonogibbo,

    The scripting interface is there to manage almost all the fatures of 2X Managment console through a scripting interface.

    If you need other 2nd level authentication, please contact support and provide then the information about the technology involved.

    2nd level authentication

    Hi Matthew,

    Thanks for such a prompt reply.
    My enquiry was of a general nature- I just thought it would be good to have an open-ended ability.

    However, I am warming to the idea of using a "one time password" method of authentication by using a mobile phone and sms as the token, eg:

    jon.
