Is it just me or is disk access much slower in the GA then it was in the previous betas? I'm using an XP VM (see below) with caching set to OSX. I do not have any snapshots. It seems to be doing at least one read for every write, and quite a lot of paging even though my RAM is not full. I'm getting 1K+ pages/second with 512mb "free" memory (from the Mac's point of view)... I'll switch the caching to VM and see if it fixes it.
I think you are right. I am running Vista in a VM. It used to boot up really fast. Now it takes a few minutes. Don't know what is wrong.
HDD Slowdown with Vista I also notice this and it is really killing me. I have to use Visual Studio 2005 but the disk runs too slow.
It's pretty bad.... I was trying to transfer something from my Boot Camp partition to my Vista VM And it was going at 200K. What happened to the disk performance?!
