For those of you looking here before doing the upgrade to 4.0, I can say I've now done 3 and all were a major headache (and one had to be rolled-back).
Make SURE you have a good backup of your virtual machine before trying this.
My first 2 upgrades had the missing/malfunctioning mouse problem. With more time consumed by running Parallels Transporter to fix them up, I was able to make them functional.
Today, I tried to upgrade a Windows XP virtual machine and it (XP) kept crashing on an ACPI blue-screen A5 error. There was no way around this (that I could determine) so I had to go back to the previous copy of the VM. Since the VM is 60GB is size, it had to be stored "off unit" so a lot of time was wasted copying and restoring files.
Version 4 might be nice but getting there is certainly mote work than it should be.
