4 chimes

Has anyone else had their mac chiming 4 time on startup, a friends imac some times chimes 4 times when he starts up other times its just the usual once, asked on another mac forum and someone on there said his did the same after he installed parallels.

Try running the Apple hardware test.

It may be faulty RAM or a duff logic board !!

thanks he had already run the hardware test and it came back clean, but last night he had a look at the ram and both both strips where incorrectly seated, it was just talking to someone on another forum, they said both their intel macs started chiming 4 times after installing parallels. It seems to be back to one chime now. Will see how it goes.
