    Nope, but did you try un-installing and then installing Parallels tools?

    no they just clone once a week
    and immediately after an update

    Well, isn't making a clone a form of backing things up? I always thought of cloning the way in which I backed up.

    No probs for me either - straightforward update on an original core duo Macbook (black) with 2GB RAM. Was using bootcamp with Vista but hated vista so much I went back to XP (which all of a sudden seems so good, but still no OS X)....this is now a Virtual machine rather than bootcamp. Fab features in this release and makes work-life very easy. Dual Screen - XP in one and MAC in the other. Used for a good 8 hours a day with no glitches and CPU usage is not noticeable anymore. GREAT.
