A duplicate name exists on the network - ?

When I start up my Windows XP VM, I get this pop-up at the login screen:

"Windows - System Error: A duplicate name exists on the network"

After I dismiss the box and login, everything seems to work fine. Does anyone know the meaning/cause/solution for this?

In the advanced network settings for the virtual machine check the MAC code assigned to the VM. This gets automatically generated, but must be unique on your network.
 
just change the name of the xp machine. right click my computer, click properties, click computer name tab and then the change button. Your VM needs a different name to the one you gave the machine in OSX
