I have started work on an existing access database using Access under Parallels, the mdb is placed over on the Mac file system and accessed through a link. Access sees the file and opens it, asks for the password, gets it and then tells me that "This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site. Access will not open the file due to potential security problems."

    SNORT!!!

The proposed fix it to remove the enhanced security nonsense which I apparently do not have or to add the site to the approved site list in IE. If I copy the file to a local Parallels (Windows) folder it works fine. I cannot figure out how to add the Mac as an approved site.

I want to keep the file over on the Mac side as I have that system backed up and maintained and all that good stuff. All my Windows-side Word documents, Excel, etc., all live over on the Mac file system and all works fine, it is just this confounded Access database.

Does anyone have any idea how I can tell Windows that it is perfectly fine to open this db?

    Thanks - Lawrence
