I wanted to make everyone aware that Acronis TrueImage software does not support Parallels 11 or 12, only 9 and 10. Regardless of the free 1 year, if you intend to use the software from *within* the Guest VM, not the Host VM, expect to experience problems. Below is a copy of the email. *** Please do not change the subject line of this email; otherwise, your response will not be received. *** Hello Michael, Thank you for your email. My name is Sandeep and I am replying on behalf of Manpreet. Michael, as per your last email, you have informed that you have upgraded your Parallels VM to version 12. I would like to inform you that we only support Parallels version 9 and 10. I understand that the experience was not a positive one for you and I truly regret the inconvenience caused to you. If you wish we can forward your refund request to the concerned team. I understand your concern, this must be very frustrating. To make sure the management team is aware of this, I am going to add your comments into our Customer Listening System. The feedback we submit in the "CLS" is used to drive major changes in support and Acronis in general. It is a major initiative and taken very seriously. I apologize that your experience didn't meet your expectations, as I said, I will make sure your concerns will be reviewed. Please let me know, if you have any other questions. I look forward to your response. Hi MichaelD10, For your information, one-year subscription for Acronis True Image is for Mac Operating System it is not supported in other Operating Systems. Refer to this article.
I didn't use the free, one-year subscription. I paid for a subscription. I'm only making individuals aware that, regardless of the free one-year subscription, or the paid subscription, Acronis does not support Parallels 11 or 12.
Acronis True Image Online backs up Windows files only. We've few other backup options to keep your work and data safe. You may simply backup the entire virtual machine by copying its .pvm file (it contains the whole virtual machine) to another place on your Macintosh HD or to external hard drive. Here is how to backup your virtual machine
I purchased Acronis because I wanted to backup individual files, with the ability to pereform incremental/differential backups, and the ability to restore individual files. The free version doesn't allow this. Being a Mac only version, it allows me to backup the entire VM only. Unless I missed something in the link you sent, the information in the link doesn't explain this. I could copy the VM to another drive, but that defeats the purpose of being able to do incremental/differential backups. As well as restoring individual files. I was able backup to their cloud using Acronis for Windows, but that took 2 days to complete and impacted my work schedule. I could never backup to a drive attached to my VM. That was the first problem. The second problem was once the full backup was complete, I could never get an incremental/differential backup to work. Only full backups to the cloud would work, taking 2 days to complete. Again, defeating the purpose that I was looking for in a true backup solution. Acronis tried to help. But all attempts failed to work. Again, I'm just making people aware that, per Acronis, they only support Parallels versions 9 and 10.
